Kawartha Dairy’s response to the COVID-19 Pandemic
Kawartha Dairy is a family owned Canadian company, whose business of producing, distributing and retailing milk and dairy products is considered an essential service, providing nutritious food for Ontario communities. Since the inception of the COVID-19 crisis in January, the safety of our employees, products and customers has been our top priority. We continue to work closely with farmers, government, industry peers and public health authorities as this pandemic unfolds. In addition to our world class SQF food safety standards, we have taken the following precautionary actions:
- extra sanitation and surface cleaning has been put in place for all Kawartha Dairy retail store and employee work spaces.
- implemented strict employee protocols regarding attendance at work with respect to symptoms and travel.
Where possible, we have directed employees to work from home. - to ensure our employees can pay their bills, we have provided additional employee benefits to cover them if they have been asked to isolate at home as a precautionary measure or if affected by school and daycare closures.
We have a strong family of employees working hard during these uncertain times to ensure that our communities have access to nutritious dairy products. We would like to thank our production, warehousing, delivery, retail store teams and all our employees for putting our customers first.
Thank you.
